A lawyer who dabbles in a little bit of everything is unable to stay up to date and proficient in criminal law. The advantage of having a former Virginia prosecutor as your defense attorney is that you have someone that has an inside and extensive understanding of the system and how a governmental prosecution works. In other words, it's an understanding of how the police investigate a case, how they gather evidence, how witnesses are interviewed, and ultimately how that case is tried and presented to a jury or a judge.
Now, the most important advantage that any individual can have, whether it's in law, whether it's in business, or whether it is in war, is to understand how their opponent thinks and operates. And in a criminal defense area that is something only a former prosecutor will have. And it's something that I bring to bear in the defense of my clients.
